BLEMISH

These words describe actions considered rude in American culture. To point at someone means to direct your finger at them, which is disrespectful. To snicker is to laugh quietly and unkindly at someone. To stare means to look at someone for too long, making them uncomfortable. To whisper about someone or to exclude others in a group can also be very rude.

ON A BASEBALL FIELD
These words all refer to specific places or objects found on a baseball field. A base is one of the four points players run to around the field. The box is an area where the batter stands to hit the ball (the 'batter's box'). The mound is the raised hill of dirt where the pitcher stands to throw the ball. Finally, the plate is 'home plate,' a special five-sided base where the batter stands and players score runs.
