TAKE TO COURT

These words all describe different ways you start a legal process or bring a case against someone in a court of law.

FILE: To officially submit papers to a court. You "file a lawsuit" to begin a civil court case, or "file a complaint."
INDICT: When a grand jury decides there is enough evidence to officially accuse someone of a serious crime, leading to a trial.
SUE: To start a civil court case against a person or company, usually asking for money because of harm or a broken agreement.
