UNITS OF TV PROGRAMS
These words describe different ways to categorize and organize television programs, from individual parts to entire collections of related shows.
Individual words:
•EPISODE: One single part of a TV show, like a chapter. It tells one story or part of a story. Usually lasts 30-60 minutes.
•FRANCHISE: A collection of TV shows and movies related by shared characters or a world. For example, all Star Wars TV shows and films are one franchise.
•SEASON: A group of many episodes that belong together and are shown over several months. For example, "Season 1" of a show has all its first episodes.
•SERIES: The entire television program from start to finish. It includes all the seasons and episodes. We say 'a TV series' when talking about the whole show.

THINGS WORN AROUND THE NECK
These are all items that people commonly wear around their neck.
Individual words:
•BOA: A long, fluffy scarf, usually made of feathers. People wear it for fashion, parties, or costumes, often draped around the neck.
•CHAIN: A series of connected metal rings. People wear a 'chain' as jewelry around their neck, often with a pendant.
•LANYARD: A strap or cord worn around the neck. It holds ID cards, keys, or phones, common at workplaces, schools, or events in America.
•TIE: A long piece of fabric worn by men around the neck, under a shirt collar. It's usually part of formal business clothing or for special events.

These are all items or techniques that involve tying strings or cords into knots.
Individual words:
•FRIENDSHIP BRACELET: A small bracelet made of colorful strings, often hand-knotted. Friends give them to each other as a symbol of their bond, popular with young people in the US.
•MACRAMÉ: A craft where you use different knots to create decorative items, like wall hangings or plant holders, out of cords or string. It's a popular hobby.
•QUIPU: An ancient record-keeping system used by the Inca people in South America. It used colored strings tied with different knots to store information or numbers.
•SHOELACES: The strings used in shoes to make them fit tightly. You tie them in a bow or knot to keep your shoes on your feet so they don't fall off.
