UNITS OF TV PROGRAMS

These words describe different ways to categorize and organize television programs, from individual parts to entire collections of related shows.
Individual words:
EPISODE: One single part of a TV show, like a chapter. It tells one story or part of a story. Usually lasts 30-60 minutes.
FRANCHISE: A collection of TV shows and movies related by shared characters or a world. For example, all Star Wars TV shows and films are one franchise.
SEASON: A group of many episodes that belong together and are shown over several months. For example, "Season 1" of a show has all its first episodes.
